Cyclone Yaku: Reniec will provide facilities for victims of landslides and rains to recover their identity cards

The heavy rains witnessed by the Cyclone Yaku caused landslides in various parts of the country. This left more than 50 dead, five missing and thousands homeless. In this way, some citizens lost all their homes and few of their belongings could be saved.

The National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) informed that he was coordinating with the local authorities through the Civil Protection areas so that the registration could be carried out. In other words, citizens who have lost their national identity document (DAYS) could access the benefit of highway.

The institution announced that staff from the Identity Restitution and Social Support Directorate are working with local and regional governments to identify those affected in the regions of Piura, Lambayeque, Lima, Áncash and others. This after the resolution that authorizes the DNI procedure for citizens in a situation of vulnerability.

“For the Documentation Days, the work will be done in accordance with the registration list of people who do not have their identity card, which will be prepared and delivered to Reniec by the authorities in charge of this function”, reads -on in the letter.
