The Indian authorities have confirmed this Tuesday about 10,000 cases of coronavirus during the last day, their lowest number since June 2020, while the death toll registered is the lowest in eight months.The Indian Ministry of Health has detailed that during the last 24 hours, 10,064 infections and 137 deaths have been detected. The previous daily minimum of cases was 10,956 and dated from June 12, while it did not drop the 140 deaths per day since the end of May.

In this way, the country has confirmed 10,581,837 cases and 152,556 deaths to date, while there are currently 200,528 active cases, 7,484 less than on Monday. Likewise, 10,228,753 people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

The Ministry has highlighted on its website that “the decrease in the number of daily cases is accompanied by the rapid increase in people vaccinated against COVID-190 in all states” and has added that “the total number of vaccinated is more twice the number of active cases. ”

India is currently the second country with the most confirmed coronavirus cases, behind the United States, and the third in which the most people have died from COVID-19, behind the United States and Brazil.
