Lawmaker Luis Cordero traveled to Panama with a former intelligence officer for the alleged purchase of spy equipment.

With nine votes for, zero against and three abstentions, the Ethics Commission of the Congress of the Republic authorized this Monday, March 13 to open a preliminary investigation against the legislator Luis CorderoJon Tay for allegedly being involved in a spy ring for the former president Pedro Castillo.

In favor of the denunciation voted Arturo Alegría and Rosangella Barbarán (Popular Force), Diego Bazán (Avanza País), Waldemar Cerrón (Free Peru), Javier Padilla (Popular Renewal), Hitler Saavedra (Somos Peru), Rosío Torres (Alliance for la Progreso – APP), Elías Varas (Bicentenary of Peru) and Karol Paredes (Popular Action).

While abstaining, María Agüero, Flavio Cruz and Óscar Zea voted and Javier Lizarzaburu (Popular Force) and Ruth Luque (Democratic Change-JPP) did not vote.
