The National Health Commission of China announced today the detection of 209 new positives for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus this Monday, 182 of them due to local contagion in Shaanxi (center, 180), Zhejiang (east, 1) and Yunnan (south, 1), marking a maximum of the last 21 months.
Most of the cases detected in Shaanxi province correspond to its capital, Xian, which has been confined since last week.
The remaining 27 cases were found among foreign travelers in Shanghai (east, 8), Guangxi (south, 6), Fujian (southeast, 2), Shandong (east, 2), Canton (southeast, 2), Yunnan (south , 2), Shanxi (center, 2), Tianjin (northeast, 1), Zhejiang (east, 1) and Chongqing (center, 1).
The health authorities also reported today the detection of 21 asymptomatic cases, 3 due to local contagion and 18 from abroad, although Beijing does not count them as confirmed cases unless they manifest symptoms.
The total of this type of infections under observation is 496, of which 467 come from other territories.
The National Health Commission also detailed that, until last local midnight (16:00 GMT on Monday), 92 patients were discharged after successfully overcoming the covid.
The total number of active infected in mainland China amounts to 2,275, twelve of which are serious.
According to the accounts of the institution, since the beginning of the pandemic, 101,486 people have been infected in the country, among which 94,575 have managed to heal and 4,636 died.
To date, 1,413,092 close contacts with infected people have been followed up, of which 52,672 are still under observation.
