On Sunday morning, Rodolfo Cartermayor of the municipality of La Florida, located in the southern sector of the capital Santiago, proceeded to a new demolition of an alleged “narco house” in this place.
In this context, the community leader and leader of the right Independent Democratic Union (IDU) He categorically blamed the Chilean procedural system for the problem of crime and public safety that affects citizens: “We are on the point, at the limit, that citizens stop denouncing, that they give up”pointed out the authority about the concern that currently exists on this issue.
“This system of criminal procedure serves the criminals, not the victims, nor the police, nor the prosecutors, nor the ordinary citizen. (…) the underlying problem is that We have a system of administration of justice where the defense of victims, the protection of the law and the protection of the police take third or fourth place.behind the rights of the offender,” he said.
In this sense, the mayor called on the authorities to seek solutions in a transversal way, beyond political colors.

The demolished house, third of its kind, would have been the sale and distribution of drugswhich, moreover, was located next to an educational institution.
“Using the law, always within the legality, we have already acted in two houses, we are in the third, removing this type of housing from circulation, which is ultimately the black spots in the neighborhoods »began Mayor Carter, adding that “Here, we have had several complaints for traffickingbecause of problems of cohabitation with the citizens and we ended, as I said, at the end of the year with a homicide”, concluded the communal chief.
“The drug dealer may be in jail or doing his business by cell phone from jail, but his associates, even rivals in some cases, guard the house and they still work the same“, he added.
“When there are political problems, the parties agree within an hour. Instead, when people die in brutal incidents, with women burned in cars, police officers murderedthe political system takes too long to resolve itself”pointed out the highest authority of the municipality of La Florida.
Asked about the issues that destroying these ‘homes’ is part of a presidential campaign, Mayor Carter said: ‘I would tell them not to be so little, so miserable, I’m a daddy, and death threats are too high a cost for a presidential candidacy. “Confronting drug traffickers comes at a personal cost. It would be quite expensive to launch a presidential candidacy at the cost of life“, he underlined.
It should be noted that the case of the demolition of this Sunday, the property in question is associated with the murder of Lissette Camila Mateluna Ruiz (21 years old)a crime that occurred on January 1 of this year, in the context of a discussion that took place between the victim and the perpetrator after two days of celebrations in this house, the responsibility for which was Marcelo Francisco Boza Montecinos (32 years old), who had a criminal record for drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, falsification of public documents and who was the protagonist of this police act by not respecting the precautionary measure of house arrest.
”These records reveal a long list of incidents this place has had: drug trafficking, disturbing noises, in short, something that had destroyed the life of this neighborhood”said the mayor, Rodolfo Carter, and maintained, in turn, that the land “has an absolutely irregular construction and was used constantly by these criminals, and then ended in a homicide and two injured police officers”.
Carter finally remarked that ”Today, all the deadlines with the general law on town planning and construction have been respected, and we reiterate it again, we act with the law. There was no one inside the building, so the demolition took place normally, in compliance with all legal and police guarantees.
