Sedena massacred five youths in Nuevo Laredo, says Human Rights Committee
The actions were described as a massacre and one of the victims managed to survive, in addition locals and relatives clashed with the men in uniform
According to the Human Rights Committee of the said region of the State of Tamaulipas, six young people were riddled with bullets by military elements: two of them, he pointed out, were finished off in the neck while that they were lying unconscious on the sidewalk, while the only survivor remains in a serious state of health.
This act was reproached following militarization as a public security strategy – and for which the government of President Andrés Manuel has been sharply and repeatedly criticized Lopez Obrador (AMLO).
Civilians attacked Sedena members in Tamaulipas with stones
One of the warned got involved in a discussion with several people and another fired on the ground to dissuade the people present, who according to the first information, would be linked to the Northeast Cartel.
“The facts show the disturbing consequences of the undeniable militarization of the course,” said the production center (Miguel Agustín Pro Juárez Human Rights Center) in his statement shared via Twitter.
After sharing the statement of the Nuevo Laredo Human Rights Committee, the Center demanded that civil authorities open and report on the relevant investigations into the multiple homicides of the five young men from Tamaulipas and one from UNITED STATES (UNITED STATES).
Plan B does not propose “irrational changes” or restrict the INE, assured the CNDH
According to the Commission, after an analysis of the reform package, the INE will not be affected in its functioning, since only the body will be restructured
In this sense, the organization stressed that the steps should not be taken by the secretariat in charge of Luis Cresencio Sandoval, but by the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) Already the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH); even who, until this publication, have not issued any pronouncement of the reprehensible fact. Thus, the Prodh Center accused:
“It is worrying that these institutions do not talk and they do not intervene, showing in practice subordination In the Army.”
It should be remembered that arbitrary execution sparked a confrontationeven with blows, between residents and dozens of relatives with soldiers believing that the victims were not armed and that there was no argument to deprive them of their lives.
Under this consideration, the Center called for ensuring the safety of witnesses and the sole survivor during the relevant investigations, as well as human rights defenders and journalists documenting the event.
It’s not up to #SEDENA conduct the investigation, but to external civilian controls such as the #RGF and the #CNDH. It is worrying that these institutions do not speak and do not intervene, in fact showing their subordination to the military.
