BRASILIA, Jan 22- Brazil’s health regulator Anvisa approved on Friday a second request for emergency use of the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine, which will allow the use of 4.8 million doses that were partially manufactured at the local level.

Brazil has already approved a first request for emergency use of the CoronaVac vaccine from Sinovac to cover 6 million doses that were imported from China.

Anvisa had approved on Sunday the emergency use of 6 million doses of CoronaVac that were imported from China by Butantan, now raising the number of doses to 10.8 million. Since then, CoronaVac has been applied in the country.
