This Friday, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, was diagnosed with COVID-19. This happens two days after he returned with the Brazilian delegation that traveled to the United Nations (UN) and will participate in various events in New York, as announced on his social networks.
The deputy is the third member of the delegation headed by Bolsonaro who traveled to New York to participate in the UN General Assembly who gives a positive result for coronavirus, together with the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, and a diplomat.
In his Twitter account, Eduardo Bolsonaro, who had already received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, stated that he is “good” and that he has already started “treatment”, although he did not specify which one.
“Despite the diagnosis, I feel fine and started treatment immediately.” Wrote Eduardo Bolsonaro, the third of the president’s sons and a defender of the so-called “early treatment”, which does not have scientific evidence.
The son of the head of state had received the first puncture of the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19, but today he again questioned its effectiveness and questioned the call “health passport”.
“We know that vaccines were made faster (than usual)”, he indicated. “I received the first dose of Pfizer and contracted COVID. Does this mean that the vaccine is useless? I do not think so. But it is one more argument against the health passport“, he added.
The Brazilian delegation returned to the country last Wednesday after a denial speech delivered by Bolsonaro to the UN, in which he defended the use of remedies of doubtful efficacy against COVID-19 and opposed the “health passport”.
However, the delegation returned without the Minister of Health, who remained in New York after testing positive when the delegation was preparing to return to Brazil.
In New York, Queiroga participated in various official activities, in a meeting between Bolsonaro and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and meetings with other personalities, such as former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, today the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
In addition, he circulated through the UN compound and the streets of New York, where he was seen with Bolsonaro and part of the Brazilian delegation eating pizza on a sidewalk, because the president could not enter restaurants because he is not vaccinated.
