In a festival of goals, Mainz beat B. Leverkusen 3-2 this Sunday, for the 21st date of the Germany – Bundesliga 2022-2023 tournament. The goals of the match for the locals were scored by Nadiem Amiri (31′ 1T) and Patrik Schick (12′ 2T). While the away goals were scored by Anthony Caci (25′ 1T), Leandro Barreiro (47′ 1T) and Marcus Ingvartsen (36′ 2T, penalty).
Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba squandered the chance to open the scoring and take the lead when he missed a penalty in the 22nd minute of the first half.
Marcus Ingvartsen was the party figure. The Mainz striker scored 1 goal and finished the opposing goal twice.

For their part, those led by Bo Svensson stopped with a 3-5-2 pattern with Finn Dahmen under the three sticks; Andreas Hanche-Olsen, Stefan Bell and Edimilson Fernandes in defence; Danny da Costa, Leandro Barreiro, Anton Stach, Anthony Caci and Ludovic Ajorque in midfield; and Lee Jaesung and Karim Onisiwo up front.

B. Leverkusen will host Freiburg the following day. Likewise, Mainz will play at home against B. Mönchengladbach.
