AMLO congratulated the Mexican Baseball League
The President of Mexico devotes a few more minutes to the triumph of the Mexican Baseball League over the United States (USA) team in the World Classic.
“They looked pretty good. like horses. They represented Mexico with great dignity and beat the United States. (…) The Mexicans were superior. They haven’t shrunk.”
In his detailed speech, López Obrador highlights the game and the trajectory of Joey Meneses who he described as “a great baller and terrific hitter”:”He was the MVP of yesterday’s game.” Likewise, the recognition of a Randy Arozarena, which he talked about when he received his Mexican nationality in exchange for his service in the Baseball League.
“Yes, we gave it to him. (…) Very diligent. He’s a very good hitter,” he commented of the Cuban-born man.
Mexico have overtaken the United States and seek a place in the quarterfinals of the World Baseball Classic
With a stellar performance from Joey Meneses and Randy Arozarena, the Aztec team returned to the competition and regained hope of overcoming the group stage.
Joey Menesesthe Culiacán-born baseball player who reached the major leagues in January 2022, led the Mexican team to a resounding victory over the United States in their second game of the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
