The race for the presidential elections is getting more and more heated in the ranks of the ruling party. It is that, between the blows crossed by who should be the next candidate, the own Alberto Fernandez seems to have lost all internal support after various social movements refused their presence at the Legislative Palace for the opening of ordinary sessions. However, Antonio Aracrehead of the presidential advisers maintained that the President seeks that the best candidate reaches the elections: “For him, the most important thing is that he wins the In front of all. He wants to ensure that the candidate, who is the one who represents the party, has the greatest number of votes possible in order to ensure continuity.
However, according to Aracre himself, before that the president will seek to present his ideas and thus gain internal PASO. “I think the president has expressed it on some occasions, that he is aware of the different points of view on various economic and political situations within the Frente de Todos. This happens in the ruling party as well as in the opposition”.

Beyond the strategy, the panorama seems complex for the aspirations of the President since, according to a report prepared by the Torcuato Di Tella University, Alberto Fernández’s confidence index has fallen sharply. Just a few months before the next national elections, the data prepared by Di Tella was 1.17 points in February, which is why it is again close to 1.12 in July last year, the lowest figure of the entire presidency of Alberto Fernández.
The situation occurred after the return it had had at the end of 2022. Thus, the current administration of the Frente de Todos again experienced a drop in public opinion on its management, which, on this occasion, was of 8.1% compared to last January.
As the head of the presidential advisers points out, despite this scenario, the president aspires to restore his image through the debate of ideas: “The strategy proposed by Alberto Fernández is to broaden the debate and use STEP as a strategy to clarify what each one thinks about and the voter of the Frente de Todos decides which option seems to him the most attractive so that Peronism predominates”.

Some of these possibilities can be seen next Wednesday, March 1, when Alberto Fernández opens regular sessions at the Legislative Palace. This same afternoon, the president will see the response of the social movements, until then close to the presidential figure.
According to reports from some groups, such as the Evita movement and Somos Barrios de Pie, they will not support the president. It will be a clear message inside the Frente de Todos and the first strong political step they have taken since they founded La Patria de los Comunes.
So far, these groups, closest to the president, have shown support whenever Fernández asks them to or for their own reasons; For example, when he was attacked by Kirchnerism or by the Vice-President of the Nation herself. It is the first time that they have not done so and they expressly and publicly support it.
