Another case of a young man who died in a bar in Bogotá, his sister recounts the terrible event

On the evening of the tragedy, his parents had authorized the young man to go to a party with his work friends in Bogotá. For this reason, she called her sister Carolina and asked her if she could come to her house and sleep there.

“I told him that there was no problem. That he was writing to me and that he was trying not to arrive so late. Let him take care of myself. I told him: my love, I t ‘wait,’ said his relative.

Andrés last reported at 11:30 p.m. when he wrote to his mother that he had arrived at Avenida Jiménez No. 5-36, the address where the meeting was being held. “When I got to where my sister marked you, mom,” was the message I sent before entering.

Hours passed and the young man no longer called or sent messages. His sister said his mother called him several times on his mobile phone, but he did not answer any of them. Finally, a woman replied, “if you want to know about your boy, we’ll be waiting for you at the San Ignacio clinic,” said the nurse.

The attendant who came to the clinic was her sister Carolina, who received the sad news that her family member had died.

“That day, the world collapsed on me. They explained to me that my little brother had died. I never thought I would find such terrible news.”

At the medical center, they told her that Andrés had been taken away by men in a taxi, dressed as security guards, who left him with a false name and a false identity card.

As for the diagnosis of the young man, it was more terrifying for his family, the doctors reported that he had died of a cardiac arrest due to drug overdose. A news that surprised because they never suspected that Andrés used drugs because neither in his appearance nor in his behavior gave them any signs, nor was he rebellious or depressed. “We could less believe that he was using amphetamines as the doctors told us.”

Given the terrible event, the only information that the young man’s family had come from forensics, had been sudden death.

“The ‘friends’ got lost and it wasn’t until we managed to talk to them that they told us that they had been partying at a place called Oveja Negra, rented for a music event, and that Andrés had left the group in the middle of the night, Caroline pointed out, it is an establishment located in a basement where this type of event takes place with a heavy use of drugs, according to what Andrés’ sister has detailed, many young people are allowed to enter without any kind of security checks or protocols.

Likewise, the relative of the victim assured that none of his property was stolen from his brother, for which they affirm that he died inside the establishment, because on his arrival at the clinic they gave him 25 minutes of resuscitation, but he was already dead.

“We will take legal action with everyone involved in this case. It won’t bring him back to life, but suddenly more young people are being prevented from dying,” he said.

Finally, Carolina made a strong appeal to young people, “think that after a night of celebration that ends in tragedy, an entire family finds itself destroyed, devastated, with more questions than answers”, she concluded. .
