through the Official Bulletinthe National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) announced that it had been decided to ban the sale of branded bleach “Hypochlorite” throughout the country. In this regard, it was reported that various irregularities were found in the product label, which offered no guarantee of safety. For this reason, considering the possible danger it posed to people, it was decided to take the measure nationwide.
Based on a communication sent by the Department of Bromatology of the Municipality of General Pueyrredón, it was warned of the sale in many supermarkets of a brand of bleach “Hypochloritewhich was of “doubtful provenance”. As such, samples were taken from the Health Products Management Assessment and Monitoring Department for evaluation.
After analyzing the product, the Bromatology Service of the Municipality of General Pueyrredon He noticed that the bleach had a chlorine concentration that was not that indicated on the label. The result indicates that the chlorine concentration is 5 grams/litre, while the label indicates a concentration of 25 g Cl/l.
In turn, it was detailed that “the laboratory report indicates that the packaging/processing date is illegible” while the label of the product in question indicates a “National Register of Establishments, RNE, which does not correspond to any domestic healthcare facility licensed by this National Administration,” maintains provision 1386/2023.

Additionally, it was clarified that “the label does not offer information regarding: the name, precautionary and warning legends, actions to be taken in the event of a spill, or product registration data by IF-2023-13484728-APN-DVPS#ANMAT”. For this reason, the General Pueyrredón Party has declared the product as “not suitable for sale”.
Faced with the irregularities observed, ANMAT considered that in order to protect potential customers and users of the product, whose manufacturing conditions are unknown, it was decided to ban its marketing throughout the country.
In article 1 of the provision, it was stated: “The use, marketing and distribution throughout the national territory and on electronic sales platforms, of all batches of the product labeled: “BASIC LAUNDRY . Thus, ANMAT has decided to prohibit the sale throughout the national territory in order to guarantee the quality, safety and effectiveness of the product. In particular, the safety of potential people who purchase the product.
Prior to the decision taken by ANMAT; the Directorate for the evaluation and monitoring of the management of health products, it was suggested not only to prohibit “the use, marketing and distribution throughout the national territory and on electronic sales platforms , of all batches of the product labeled “lavandina basic”. hypochlorite”.
