They assured that the athlete is in a process within the justice of that country that he has not initiated. They indicated that he was accused of forming an armed group involved in the murders of several police officers.

The worldwide uproar caused by the apparent sentence to hang of the Iranian soccer player Amir Nasr-Azadani landed in Colombia, not only because of the rejection he provoked for the President of the Republic, Gustavo Francisco Petro; the country’s most famous artist in the world, Shakira, or the historical scorer of the national eleventh, Radamel Falcao García, but also because the embassy of the Persian nation in national territory denied that the athlete is going to be executed.

This was confirmed in a publication on their official Twitter account of Persian diplomacy, where they even attached a screenshot of the news with the red ‘fake’ stamp.

They also point out that the process against the player in the Justice of that country has started so far, so there is still no formal conviction.

“False news about the death sentence of an Iranian footballer. According to the issued indictment, Azadani is the fifth defendant in a criminal case. He is accused of being a member of an armed group that killed three police officers and security agents with automatic weapons. #Hybrid War (sic)”, they assured.

They reiterated that they have not judged him, and that for this reason the headlines that assure that the footballer will go to the gallows are false information.

“The Judgment has not yet taken place. Therefore, the death penalty news is a pure lie. In the brutal actions of the rioters, 50 police and security agents have been killed and hundreds more have been injured. In Hybrid War, the FAKE NEWS (sic) campaign continues,” they added.

And it is that even the head of state, Gustavo Petro, joined the global rejection that generated the information of the apparent judicial resolution against the Iranian soccer player.

“Very good for Messi, and for the Argentine people. And that Iran does not kill soccer, ”he said on that social network, after congratulating the South American nation whose team was crowned the new world champion.

Within the Colombian support for Azadani, there was also Shakira, who after the celebration of the closing of the world championship recalled the case.

“Today, in the World Cup final, I just hope that the players on the field and the whole world remember that there is a man and fellow footballer named Amir Nasr, sentenced to death, just for speaking out in favor of women’s rights.” reproached the Colombian artist with the most recognition in the world.

The woman from Barranquilla had already left other messages about the situation of the 26-year-old player, who was convicted of the riots that broke out in the Persian nation when a young woman died in the hands of a police officer.

Even the historical scorer of the Colombian National Team, Radamel Falcao ‘El tigre’ García, reproached him: “This is unacceptable. All with Amir Nasr-Azadani”.

Another of the Colombians who spoke out in favor of Amir Nasr-Azadani was the Colombian midfielder for Juventus, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, who also used his social networks to send a message of encouragement to the Iran national team player.

The midfielder of the Colombian team described what happened with the Iranian player as something “unacceptable” and added that “the world of soccer must be with Amir,” he said on his official Instagram account.
