A family from the United States was the victim of a serious road accident on Thursday at the borders of the states of Sonora and Sinaloa, which left a minor dead.
According to initial reports, five US citizens were traveling from Arizona to Culiacán, Sinaloa in a white 2000 GMC pickup truck.
But when entering said entity, on the international highway Mexico 15, in the valley of El Carrizo, in the municipality of Ahome, the driver lost control of the unit and left the traffic lanes, for which they ended up overturning in the central ditch, in front of a farm.
Witnesses notified the emergency number 911, so paramedics from the Municipal Emergency Medical Service of Ahome (SUMMA), elements of the National Guard and the municipal police arrived on the scene, where they found two minors, as well as their seriously injured Mum and Grandpa, they were therefore taken to a nearby hospital.
According to police data, those injured in the accident were identified as follows: Cenobio LF, 69 years old; Yoselin Nohemí LR, 22; and children William Said and Yaritzi Noemí, aged eight and two respectively.
However, he also found a third minor without vital signs, identified as Geovanny BL, aged just six.
Dozens of personal effects and items the family had brought in the truck were strewn across the area.
Note that a road trip from Arizona to Culiacán is at least 13 hours (1,080 km) if departing from Tucson, or 15 hours if departing from Phoenix (1,260 km).
