Alessandra Rojo de la Vega has resigned from her position as mayor of Miguel Hidalgo

Through a video on their official social networks, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega made public his resignation from the public service he held as general director of social development of the town hall Michael Hidalgo.

The now former civil servant, who at one time was also a deputy of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM), explained that his decision was part of his intention to follow his “dream” and his “cause of life”: to work for the rights of women.

Announcing the resignation from his position in the administration of the mayor Mauricio TabeRojo de la Vega applauded the management of the militant of the National Action Party (PAN) and listed some of the actions implemented in the demarcation to “fight against inequalities and the violence that women experience on a daily basis.

Regarding the period during which she was part of the said government, the activist said: “We did it. Women’s struggle has ceased to be a screen to become a real cause.

As part of the government work of which he was a part, aimed at defending the women of the town hall, he recalled the installation of purple spikesphysical spaces located in government facilities such as offices, sports facilities, support houses and clinics, designed to provide care, information and support to women victims of any type of gender-based assault.

During his message, Rojo de la Vega called on the authorities to ensure that their performance is always in favor of the citizens. “That’s what governments are for, for people to receive the best and in the best conditions,” he said.

Regarding the next step on her journey as a women’s rights advocate, she said she wants to continue “with what fills my soul: my feminist activism”. To this, he added that he aims “to inspire thousands of people to generate this awareness that has changed my life, to demand from where we can that the authorities stop their work of being so deficient “.

Under this narrative, he acknowledged that part of his aspirations is to replicate the actions and strategies implemented in Miguel Hidalgo in other states of the country.

Due to the time and effort that his work as an activist will require, he has made the decision to leave the public service.
