The bone Aeromar pilots and flight attendants prepare an “imminent” to hit next February 16 before debt defaultas well as the crisis of its operations in recent months.

According to José Alonso Torres, spokesperson for the Aviation Pilots Union Association (BLADE), the Mexican airline founded in 1987, did not demonstrate the solvency to face 120 million pesos he owes in wagesas good as 500 million at Mexico City International Airport (AICM). That’s what he said in an interview for Expansion:

“It’s almost a given, with a 95% probability that next Thursday we will go on strike, there is a slight possibility that Aeromar will pay part of its debts or that an investor will appear”

As if that were not enough, he also has a debt with the tax administration service (SAT) which amounts to 3 billion pesos.

It should be noted that in recent days it has been announced that the American group In Airlines had signed a letter the intention to acquire the airline and seeks an agreement with the government for the term of the payment of the debts. However, Alonso Torres pointed out that so far more progress regarding this process, they are therefore only a “potential investor”.

The movement of unions occurs within hours of the expiration of a IMCA Ultimatum for Aeromar to settle, i.e. before February 15 at 11:59 p.m. Although the company sent a payment proposal, its contents or acceptance were not made public.

“As of February 16, they would no longer be allowed to operate at Mexico City International Airport. This is the main reason for what is happening,” he stressed.
