A Sarmiento railroad train was involved in a violent accident this morning after running over a car and dragging it for at least 100 meters.
It happened minutes before 6 o’clock at the Monteagudo level crossing, at the Ramos Mejía station. Due to the collision, the service was reduced between the Moreno and Haedo stations, in full rush hour.
To remove it, the personnel of the company that manages the line had to use a large crane and lift it several meters above the wire. It was a truck Chevrolet Meriva, whose driver – according to reports – was rescued and is out of danger in a hospital in the area. The circumstances in which the vehicle was hit are still unknown.
The images of the state in which the truck was left are striking. According to what could be observed, the car was completely destroyed and even some of its parts – completely turned into scrap metal – were scattered on the tracks, so the work to restore service took almost two hours.
Due to the delays, users were forced to take alternative routes to enter the City of Buenos Aires.
