It happened at 1400 Los Alamos St. in the town of Godoy Cruz, where the victim had gone to perform maintenance work. Police officers are investigating the causes of the accident.
Miguel Ángel Durán, 68 years old, died this Thursday afternoon in the locality of Godoy Cruz after falling from the terrace of an uninhabited apartment where he was doing renovations. The tragic event occurred around 5:00 p.m. yesterday at 1,400 Los Alamos street, according to local authorities.
The security cameras of the complex captured the moment when Durán arrived at the building, went up the elevator and, minutes later, fell into the void for reasons that are still being investigated. Durán’s wife was alerted by neighbors about the accident and, upon arriving at the place, found her husband dead.
According to the portal MDZ, the apartment where the accident occurred was uninhabited and Durán had gone there to do some maintenance work, as confirmed by his wife. After the incident, police officers from the 34th Police Station of Godoy Cruz were present at the place to carry out the relevant investigations.
Durán’s death was confirmed by doctors from the Coordinated Emergency Service, who went to the scene after receiving the accident report. The exact circumstances of the fall have not yet been clarified, and the authorities are still working to determine what could have caused the tragic outcome.
And hours before, in another tragic case with similar edges, a 40 year-old man died after falling from a building in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Devoto. According to police sources, the victim was on a scaffolding located on the fourth floor of the building.
The episode occurred this Thursday morning, in a house located at 3800 Ricardo Gutiérrez Street.
The City Police was alerted about the incident through a 911 call, which indicated that there was a worker with “fasteners for working at height” who had fallen from the fourth floor of the building.
The Buenos Aires police immediately went to the scene, as well as a SAME ambulance. Once on the scene, the authorities confirmed the man’s death.
The man worked at the place where he died. He worked there as a guard and provided his services to an architect. After the episode, the woman was taken by the Buenos Aires security forces to make a statement.
According to the victim’s relatives, at the time of the tragedy the employee had the task of removing the fenders to prevent materials from falling from the heights to the ground, reported the same media.
Police personnel remained for hours in the area to collect evidence to help clarify the causes of the incident.

The tragic episode occurred last Thursday, October 17, minutes before 2:00 p.m. The victim fell from the terrace of the restaurant El Faro Bistró, which is located at the top of the complex. After the fall, he hit the asphalt of a private parking lot adjacent to the hotel and died instantly.
Several units, both from the Mendoza Police and the Tourist Police, moved to the place after being alerted about what had happened.
Emergency service personnel also arrived at the scene. However, nothing could be done to save the victim, who lost his life instantly as soon as he suffered the brutal fall.
