One of the three members of a criminal gang from the Santa Fe city of Rosario, which this week began to be tried for six homicides and four attempts, was sentenced to 11 and a half years in prison for one of those events through an abbreviated trial.

The saga of homicides and attempted murders referred to in the trial occurred between November 2016 and February 2018, and had as a context a violent drug dispute between two family clans in the south of Rosario over the territorial dispute: the Camino and the Funes.

The defendants are, in addition to Avejera, Enrique Adrián “Cable” Solís and José Damián Pucheta, members of the gang led by former Newell’s gang boss Roberto “Pimpi” Camino, until his assassination in March 2010.

With different roles and accusations, Prosecutors Alejandro Ferlazzo, Luis Schiappa Pietra and Ademar Bianchini accuse the members of that group of six murders and four unsuccessful attempts, spokesmen for the cause recalled. On its first day, the oral proceedings went to an interim room, dictated by judges Rafael Coria, Nicolás Foppiani and Patricia Bilotta, facing the possibility that Avejera’s defense would reach an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office to sign an abbreviated process, what finally happened.
