A couple threw the perfect Spartan wedding … in the Philippines. Groom and witnesses showed up shirtless and thighs in the wind, complete with a red cloak and helmet. For the bride, a white dress with a vaguely Greek cut and lots of golden jewels, including the crown. The gimmick, of course, went viral on Facebook.
It’s the idea of Vince and Dollzen Miraflor and yes, given the physique it’s no surprise that they are both warriors in real life as well. Not Spartans, but almost: Vince is a Muay Thai athlete and Dollzen a professional boxer.

The proposal (as indeed the marriage itself) can be found on YouTube: Vince gave the ring after a fight in Thailand in 2019. His nick name, however, is “the Spartan Stoic”. Zack Snyder, the director of 300 , the film about the Spartans at Thermopylae, certainly approves. At the wedding, helmets aside, there were also their twelve dogs.
