In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, the start of Season 2 is imminent: The activation will take place on February 25th.
As part of the new season, Treyarch publishes an extensive update that provides new content for the first-person shooter. A roadmap is now available that reveals details of the upcoming changes and innovations.
Among other things, players can look forward to four new multiplayer maps. Right at the start, Apocalypse is a new small to medium-sized map designed for 6v6 battles. Golova, Mansion and Miami Strike will follow in the course of the season.
Six new weapons for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone will also appear.
The Argentine FARA 83 assault rifle and the SMG LC10 are available directly for the Season 2 update. This is followed by the machete, the e-tool, the R1 Shadowhunter and the ZRG 20mm sniper rifle.
Machete, E-Tool, R1 Shadowhunter and ZRG 20mm can either be activated during the season via the associated challenges or purchased via bundles in the in-game shop.
In the roadmap for the new season, the developers are also introducing new game modes: In the launch week, Gun Game goes online in the free-for-all version, followed by Stockpile and Hardpoint (multi-team). With Naga (Warsaw Pact) you also get access to a new operator in the launch week.
The three NATO operators Maxis, Wolf and Rivas will also follow during the season.
With the roadmap, the developers finally provide tangible details about the new zombies experience Outbreak. The mode continues the Dark Aether story and takes place in the Ural Mountains – new opponents, rewards, objectives and fresh Intel await you.
You explore Outbreak on foot, in vehicles or with jump pads. You dismantle elite opponents using a satellite tracker, escort a rover that recognizes spatial portals or take on hordes of the undead in a Dark Aether zone. More information about the new mode should follow in the coming days.
In both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, an Outbreak Challenge event is due to match the new Zombies mode from February 25th to March 11th.
The developers are announcing new points of interest and game modes especially for Warzone. In the launch week, for example, Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme is available, in which up to 90 players fight for survival on Rebirth Island.
During Season 2, exfiltration comes into the Battle Royale shooter, in which players have to secure a portable radio that appears somewhere on Verdansk. The operator who backs up the radio for a certain time wins the match. However: players who own the radio are marked accordingly on the tac map.
The season 2 start is rounded off with a new Battle Pass, in which you can unlock additional items as usual. You will find more information on the upcoming content in the roadmap included below.
