UEFA disqualifies Shakhtar’s coach Luis Castro for one match
Shakhtar head coach Luis Castro has been disqualified. Shakhtar Donetsk’s coach Castro is disqualified from the Champions League. The Portuguese coach has been suspended for one match.
Castro was punished by one disqualification match for delaying the start of the Champions League round 2 match against Inter Milan. The Shakhtar coach was punished because he already had a similar violation in the match of the 1/8 finals of the Europa League against Wolfsburg in August 2020.
He then received one conditional disqualification match with a probationary period of one year. Following the violation against Inter, this penalty came into force.
Castro is also obliged to pay 5,000 euros, and Shakhtar – 15,000 euros and make sure that the coach is informed.
UEFA also fined Dynamo
Dynamo was fined 5,000 euros for improper training and violation of the minimum hygiene requirements for fans during the home match against Juventus. Among the violations were such as the lack of a mask on the face of the audience and non-compliance with social distance.
In addition, Kyiv residents will pay 14,000 euros for blocking public passages by spectators. All fines must be paid by the team within 90 days of the announcement of the decision.
