AT&T customers in the country are facing problems on Tuesday to communicate with cell phones of other residents who are not users of this telecommunications company.
According to the company, calls between AT&T customers are not affected, only those made to customers of other operators and said they are working with them “as quickly as possible to diagnose and resolve the problem”.
“There is a nationwide issue that is affecting customers’ ability to complete intercarrier calls,” AT&T said on its X page.
The Federal Communications Commission, which regulates the telecommunications industry, said it is investigating what caused the problem.
“We are aware of reports that consumers in several states are unable to place wireless calls and are currently investigating,” it also said on social media.
According to local media, the website Downdetector showed a spike in customer reports of problems using AT&T’s service as of 1 p.m. local time.
