In this guide you will find the best websites and tools to translate PDF files easily.

This is a selection of websites from which you will be able to translate PDF to other languages easily and efficiently. Not all the proposals that I show you here are specifically designed for the automatic translation of PDF files. However, all of them will allow you to change the language of the text included in the document.

If you are looking for a tool to change the language of any PDF document, the applications, websites and tools mentioned here are of great interest to you. Stay until the end to learn more details about each one.

Google Docs

I start talking about Google Docs. The documents you create with this word processor can be translated intelligently thanks to the built-in tool it includes. In fact, it is one of the tricks for Google Docs that you should not miss.

The thing is that this function, which is located within the Tools section, allows you to generate a copy in another language of the document. But aren’t we talking about PDF files? All you have to do is upload the PDF file to Google Drive, right-click on it and, in the Open with menu, select Google Documents.

This process will convert the PDF file into a Google document that you can translate into the language of your choice. You can also take the opportunity to edit the PDF with Google Drive. When the translation is finished, export the Google Document to PDF and you’re done.

Microsoft Word

Something similar happens with Word. As in the case of Google Docs, it is also possible to open a PDF in Microsoft’s word processor. Once it has been processed, you can apply any editing to it, such as underlining your PDF.

Of course, you also have a built-in translation tool, located in the Review tab. It works in both the desktop version for Windows and Mac, as well as in Word on the web.

Google Translate

Let’s go back to Google to talk about Google Translate. For some time now, this translation platform has had the option of uploading documents. It supports a variety of formats, from DOCX to PDF. It can also translate PowerPoint presentations and spreadsheets.

The limitations you should bear in mind are as follows: files cannot be larger than 10 MB and, in the case of PDFs, cannot be longer than 300 pages. In addition, you will only be able to access it from your computer, as this feature does not appear in the mobile web version.

DeepL

DeepL, defined by its creators as the best translator in the world, now supports PDF files. All you have to do is access its main page and drag the file to the corresponding field.

In its free version, DeepL allows translating a maximum of 3 files per month. It also has a limitation of 1500 characters. If you need to expand the translator’s capabilities, you will have to jump through hoops and pay for the Pro version.

Bing Translator

Bing Translator is Microsoft’s alternative to Google’s tools. The issue is that it is not as complete a solution and does not allow the input of PDF documents. However, you can use it to translate texts copied directly from any document.

ChatGPT

I already explained what my impressions were when translating texts with ChatGPT. In general, it is a pretty good tool, although it can sometimes make mistakes in some terms. In any case, with ChatGPT you have several options when translating.

One of them is to copy and paste the text of the document into the chatbot, asking it to make a translation into another language. This is the only way to translate a document available to you, as long as you do not pay for ChatGPT Plus. If you are subscribed to the paid version, you will be able to upload PDF files thanks to various plugins. Another possibility is to go to chatpdf.com, which allows you to manipulate PDF files with GPT technology.

Bing Chat

Following on from the above, I would like to mention Bing Chat. At the moment, the Bing chatbot, although based on GPT-4, does not allow you to upload PDF files. However, it is a good tool for changing the language of any text. You can use the chatbot by copying and pasting snippets from your documents, no matter what format they are in.

DeftPDF

DeftPDF is a complete online PDF editor. Currently, it includes a translator that, for free, can change the language of any document of, at most, 3 pages. After that, you need to pay for each additional page or subscribe to their unlimited plan.

It is a tool that supports multiple languages, such as English, Czech, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Thai or Latin. In addition, it not only supports PDF files as an input method, but you can also translate PowerPoint presentations, Word documents or plain text files (TXT).

DocTranslator

DocTranslator is another solution you have at your disposal to change the language of a document. It supports the input of PDF files that are written in a large number of languages. However, to try it out you will have to register and create an account.

PdfT

PdfT is another solution similar to the rest that allows you to upload a PDF file and download it translated into multiple languages. Although it offers a free trial, you need to register and open a new account if you want to see the results. As reported on its official website, its system is based on artificial intelligence, predictably, on some known language model.
