Tesla is a car manufacturer that we are now used to seeing in the landscape. Especially in the United States, the birthplace of the brand. Since 2008 with the Roadster I but especially since 2012 with the Model S, it is a brand that never ceases to impose itself. And yet, this ascent is not without concern.
NHTSA asks Tesla to recall its Model S and Model X
The Tesla Model S and Model X have been on the road for quite a while now (2012 and 2015 respectively) but it looks like after all this time the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the US federal agency responsible for road safety, asks the company to recall these two models. This is because of issues with the screen, rear camera, defroster, defogger, and more.

As our cars are more and more intelligent and equipped with ever more advanced technologies, this increase in the number of components, more and more interconnected components, would directly affect their reliability. For example, many owners of the brand’s vehicles report problems with the screen, preventing them from accessing or controlling certain features of the car, such as viewing speed, controlling the temperature, etc.
According to Jake Fisher, director of testing at Consumer Reports Auto Test Center, “With modern cars like Tesla, the center display controls a lot more than the radio. This large slab provides access to many important security systems, including the rear camera, heater and defroster. Relying on these screens will only increase this kind of concern. ”
Tesla has not yet officially responded to this recall request, but it is estimated that around 158,000 vehicles are affected.
