What has happened
Apple will hold a ‘Peek Performance’ event on Tuesday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. EST, according to invitations sent out by the company. A video announcing the event has also been shared on Twitter by Greg Joswiak , Apple’s senior vice president of marketing.
Launch event details available in the invitation confirm that it will take place virtually and will be broadcast from the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.
The probable date of the event and the launches were previously communicated by Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman , an Apple specialist, in early February.
Possible Apple releases
Apple is expected to announce the third version of its budget iPhone model, the iPhone SE, during the event. The previous SE model was released in April 2020.
The new iPhone SE will be 5G-enabled and will have improved cameras and a faster processor. With the introduction of him, Apple could afford to officially reduce prices of the iPhone SE 2 to $199, Gurman noted in his Power On newsletter last Sunday. This will help the company attract more people to its ecosystem, who in turn could consume more of its Services offerings, as he added.
Apple is also likely to release an iPad, an update to the Air Model, which will also have a faster chip and 5G connectivity, according to Gurman. The columnist has also pointed out that the company could announce a new Mac with internal Apple chips.
The event will be broadcast live on the company’s website and on the Apple TV app.
