Uruguayan midfielder Facundo Waller signed for Puebla, his third club in Mexican soccer, as a reinforcement for the Clausura 2023 tournament, which will begin next January.
“The 25-year-old left-handed midfielder has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Puebla squad,” the center of the country reported this Wednesday in a press release.
Waller, 25, was part of the Uruguayan team that played in the last South American Pre-Olympic.
The Uruguayan youth squad from Plaza Colonia, who comes from San Luis, is a midfielder with a tendency to attack on the left flank, where he also fits in as a winger.
“He is characterized by being an element with a lot of grit that also adapts very well to enhance mobility on the left wing as a midfielder, coupled with his versatility, his speed and ability allow him to frequently reach the rival area,” Puebla described to your reinforcement.
Facundo has been in Mexico since August 2020, when Plaza Colonia ceded it to the Pumas UNAM, a team in which he played until 2021.
With the cats, Waller played 33 games in which he provided a pass for a goal and three assists.
After his time with the Pumas, Waller was loaned to San Luis, the Mexican branch of Atlético de Madrid. The Potosinos bought it from Colonia.
At San Luis, the midfielder played 49 games in which he scored four goals and provided four assists.
In Puebla, Waller will be one of the substitutes for his compatriot Maximiliano Araújo, who like him was selected in the last Pre-Olympic. Araújo went to Toluca.
Waller will join the Uruguayan Emanuel Gularte, Gastón Silva and Kevin Ramírez in Puebla.
The poblanos will debut in the Clausura 2023 on January 9 by visiting the champion Pachuca, led by the Uruguayan coach Guillermo Almada.
