This Thursday three matches will be held on date 15 of the South American Qualifiers. Ecuador hosts Brazil, Chile faces Argentina and Paraguay meets Uruguay.

The fifteenth round of the South American Qualifiers come into action with three games this Thursday that will be key to clearing the way to qualify for Qatar 2022.

Ecuador will leave, starting at 4:00 pm, to try to shorten its way to the World Cup, at the expense of the undefeated and already qualified Brazil, in the match to be played in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito.

While Brazil qualified early, Ecuador will seek to do so in the remaining four dates, since it is third in the standings, with 23 points, six more than Colombia and Peru.

Although the current moment in Ecuador is not the best due to injuries and infections of a good number of players with COVID-19, it will come with the historic precedent of having beaten Chile for the first time last November, in Qualifiers, by 0-2 in Santiago.

Chile, still waiting for players, refines the last details to receive, at 7:15 pm, the Argentine team that will not have Lionel Messi.

La Roja, directed by the Uruguayan Martín Lasarte, still keeps its options alive to reach the World Cup, but for this it is forced to add three to the Zorros del Desierto Stadium against an Argentine team that will not have its top star and then win against La Verde in La Paz.

To do this, the coaching staff has worked formations without being able to count on key members of the cast: midfielder Arturo Vidal is suspended after receiving a red card against Ecuador and being suspended for two dates, while winger Mauricio Isla and winger Jean Meneses gave positive for COVID-19.

Urgency over tactics. This sums up the duel that this Thursday, at 6:00 pm, the teams from Paraguay and Uruguay will face.

Both teams present themselves with the urgent need to win if they still want to dream of the World Cup and, aware of this, their two coaches have not talked about strategy in previous days but rather about attitude, mentality or character.
