The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, tested positive for covid-19, the club announced in a statement on Tuesday, and will not participate in two planned trips to Linares and Granada.
“The president is well and without any symptoms,” the club reported, adding that he was tested after having been in direct contact with people who had tested positive for the virus in recent hours. Laporta will remain confined.
Rafael Yuste, first vice president, gave negative to the test but “as a precaution” he will not go with the team to Linares either, said FC Barcelona.
