Midfielder Adrien Rabiot and central defender Dayot Upamecano missed training this Tuesday with the French team and are doubtful for the World Cup semifinal matchup in Qatar against Morocco, which will include midfielder Aurelien Tchouaméni.

Both are ill and have not participated in the day’s exercise session, which is only partially open to the press, the French Football Federation (FFF) said.

In the case of Upamecano, it is the second day in a row that he cannot participate with the rest of his teammates in training. In both cases, the reason was a sore throat linked to the air conditioning, the same cause that led to Rabiot’s loss.

In the event that his loss is confirmed, everything indicates that the position in the defense axis will be occupied by Ibrahima Konaté, while Youssouf Fofana would jump in midfield instead of Rabiot.

Next to him will be Tchouaméni. The Madrid player trained as normal, after being absent the day before due to a blow suffered during the quarterfinal match against England. The midfielder is the only player to have started every game in the French eleven.

France, the defending champion, is playing for a place in the second consecutive World Cup final, while Morocco, the first African country in the semifinals, is bidding to continue making history.
