Carlos Alcaraz has become one of the great sensations of the tennis world in this 2021 season despite his 18 years. The Murcian has already achieved his first professional title at Umag and has shone in major tournaments on the calendar and, as the latest example of this, is his victory this Tuesday against Jannik Sinner at the Masters 1,000 in Paris.

Before competing in the Parisian tournament, Alcaraz participated in an ATP video together with the Argentine footballer of Juventus from Turin Paulo Dybala in which they analyzed the importance of how to handle pressure in the most difficult moments of matches.

Alcaraz himself confessed what his tactic is when preparing the matches. “The day before or the day of the game, I try to watch videos of the opponent to see how he plays and his weaknesses. With my coach (Juan Carlos Ferrero), we talked a bit about how to take advantage of the opponent’s weaknesses and he helps me with it. ”

Dybala was amazed at Alcaraz’s great performance and what he has achieved despite his youth. “I think you need to get stronger in difficult moments. I think you are very young and I have seen you play, and Every point you earn, you celebrate as if it were your last. Seeing you so young in big stadiums says a lot about you. “

The Juventus footballer also wanted to give Alcaraz this advice in the face of the pressure that the tennis player could face in the future. “As soon as your level goes up, the pressure is greater and people ask for more. You have to try to turn that pressure into a strength and work all the physical and mental aspects, and then you can control it.”

Alcaraz himself also admitted that the results obtained in his first season as a professional were not expected. “Honestly, I wasn’t expecting all of these results. This year has been fantastic, and although there are still tournaments to compete, I am very happy with my season. I started at the Australian Open playing the preview as number 160 in the ranking. My goal was to finish the year in the Top-50 (this week is 35). It’s amazing to qualify for the Next Gen Atp Finals, And that means I’ve worked really hard this year.”
