Mega boxing night in Saudi Arabia with Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder? Here’s what is known

According to reports from various specialized media, Fury, Usyk, Joshua and Wilder would face off in Saudi Arabia in December

Good news for boxing fans. According to what was revealed to Sky Sports by Top Rank president Todd DuBoef, you can “dream” of a mega heavyweight fight night where Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder would be the protagonists of a historic bill that would be held in Saudi Arabia.

“There are so many challenges to make that happen (…) I never say never, it’s a great idea Can it really be executed? I don’t know. is it real? I don’t know. There’s nothing wrong with dreaming. If it’s a great dream and it comes to fruition, it’s great for everybody, but if it’s a great dream and it doesn’t come to fruition, you have a loss of expectation and disappointment on the part of the fighters and the fans,” DuBoef told the British media outlet.

Previously, the long-awaited unification fight for all heavyweight titles between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr was set to take place at Wembley Stadium in April, but negotiations fell through because, according to Usyk’s team, the fighter was unhappy with a purse split that heavily favored Fury.

However, the representative of “The Gipsy King”, Bob Arum, revealed to the Ringside Reporter portal that negotiations are indeed underway: “I spoke to a representative of Skills Challenge, which organizes these boxing events in Saudi Arabia (…) We know those people, we worked for them in connection with the Jake Paul and Tommy Fury fight as far as American television is concerned, so we know who they are and we have had some very interesting conversations with them”.

In this way the Gypsy King’s promoter confirmed that the long-awaited fight in the top division could happen later this year. Fury is the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion, while Usyk holds the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles.

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder will also be on the card.

In addition to the star fights of Fury and Usyk, two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua of Great Britain confirmed to Metro newspaper that there is a “95 percent certainty” that he will face American Deontay Wilder in the same event.

“I honestly think it’s there at 95 percent,” Joshua stated, confirming that the interest in making this fight in Saudi Arabia is a done deal.

“He’s good, I respect him, I don’t look down on him and he will make me better,” Joshua stated about Wilder in the same interview. “I respect what he has done in this division. It’s hard to become champion and he did it, so I have to respect him,” he added.
