Manchester United will play in Las Vegas for the first time this summer against Germany’s Borussia Dortmund.

The two popular soccer clubs will square off on July 30 at 6 p.m. at Allegiant Stadium.

The exhibition match features United stars Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez. The Dortmund team is led by U.S. star Giovanni Reyna, Julian Brandt and German legend Marco Reus.

“We have worked with the coach and his staff to provide a mix of competitive opponents to play against during our U.S. tour and we look forward to the match against Borussia Dortmund,” John Murtough, Manchester United’s director of soccer, said in a statement. “As well as gaining valuable game time, the squad will also take part in training camps within the best sporting facilities available, giving our players the opportunity to get fit before the start of the new Premier League season.”

The Las Vegas match is United’s second stop in the United States on its summer tour, as the team faced Wrexham AFC in San Diego on July 25. Tickets for that match sold out in a matter of days. Preparations for the announcement of the match began earlier this year, when it was announced that United would play in Las Vegas this summer.

“The response we have received from fans since announcing we would be returning to the United States has been incredible,” Geoff Jones, chief executive officer of TEG Sport, the match promoter, said in a statement. “We already have full capacity for the game in San Diego and I’m confident the same will be true for this match in Las Vegas.”

The Las Vegas match marks Borussia Dortmund’s first visit to the United States since 2019 and the fourth in its history, with its first trip taking place in 1954. The club has witnessed a surge in American fans over the past decade, with players from the U.S. getting their first taste of elite European soccer.

This will be the first time United and Borussia Dortmund have met since 2016 and only the sixth time between the two clubs in all of history.

The ticket presale will open Tuesday at 12 p.m. and tickets for the general public will go on sale Thursday at 9 a.m. through Ticketmaster. The match is expected to draw fans from around the world.

“Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are two heavyweights in world soccer and we are thrilled to bring this showdown to Las Vegas,” Jones said. “This is the next opportunity for fans to experience Manchester United up close in the United States and experience all that the iconic city of Las Vegas has to offer. We expect demand to be strong, with fans from across the U.S., U.K. and Europe traveling to Las Vegas for this event.”
