Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is listed as doubtful on the injury report to play for Tennessee despite returning to practice Friday.

Lawrence, who didn’t practice for two days because of a bad sprain to the toe on his left foot, only watched from the sidelines as CJ Beathard practiced reps with the offensive first team.

But Lawrence returned to his position on Friday and is expected to start against the Titans (7-5) on Sunday in a game the Jaguars need to win to keep their long-shot chances of a South Division playoff spot alive. of the American Conference (AFC).

“I feel good,” Lawrence said after his first day of practice of the week.

Jacksonville (4-8) exercised caution with Lawrence, who was initially thought to have injured a knee when he was sacked on the final play of the first half last week in Detroit. But Lawrence returned to play in the second half and tests determined his finger injury.

Lawrence wasn’t sure earlier in the week if he would need to wear extra protection inside his shoes.

Coach Doug Pederson played down the injury Friday, saying: “We’re talking about a finger.”

“I just think he’s going to have peace of mind, honestly,” Pederson said. “Can he play like that? It’s going to hurt, like the injuries others have at this point in the season.”
