The former Los Angeles Lakers player has been involved in a new controversy with his ex, Liza Morales, for not paying child support.
A few weeks ago the news broke that Lamar Odom had confronted Tristan Thompson over comments in a publication by Khloé Kardashian, now it has transcended the sentence of a lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend, Liza Morales .
The former Los Angeles Lakers player, among others, has once again been involved in problems with his ex-partners, in this case with the television network of ‘Basketball Wives’, who sued him in May for not having complied with his agreement on his children – set in 2015- since June 2020 .
According to several US media reports, Lamar Odom was ordered to disburse the amount of almost $ 400,000 to his ex-girlfriend, Liza Morales, after he allegedly stopped paying child support and other related costs . It alleged that the former NBA player was behind in child support, college expenses and tuition, and the rent of the Manhattan apartment where she lives with Destiny (23 years old) and Lamar Jr. (19 years old). A payment for which they were immersed in an eviction case.
Already at last month’s court hearing, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper accepted the television station’s request for a default judgment against Odom , who after marrying Khloe Kardashian, no longer appeared in court to defend himself of the accusations .
Might have to pay an extra million dollars
The judge later signed his sentence, ordering Odom to pay $ 380,549 – just over 320,600 euros – for child support, rent arrears, college costs and his legal fees in the case.
Additionally, Lamar Odom must also fund a million-dollar life insurance policy , naming his ex as the beneficiary for Friday. Otherwise, Morales “can issue a sentence against Lamar Odom for an additional million dollars,” as the signed order indicates.
