The fight was very competitive, with Román González showing off in the first rounds and the Mexican taking control midway through the fight.
The world super flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the Mexican Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada, defeated, by split decision in twelve rounds, the now former world super flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) , the Nicaraguan Román ‘Chocolatito’ González, in a unification and revenge duel, which was the stellar of this Saturday, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The fight was very competitive, with Chocolatito showing off in the first rounds and Estrada with more control in the middle of the fight. The Nicaraguan seemed to close the lawsuit better. But, in the end a judge saw González win with 115-113 and the other two Estrada with points of 117-111 and 115-113.
González seemed to take the best part, having connected a greater number of power shots among the more than 1,500 that between the two fighters threw during the entire emotional fight.
After the decision was announced, both fighters congratulated each other, although González, who indicated that he did not want a third fight, burst into tears when interviewed, excited that he was unable to win.
“I know I have won both fights, but all my respects to him (Estrada), he is a great fighter and it is not his fault,” said the ‘Chocolatito’.
In the same role, the undisputed world champion of welters, the American Jessica McCaskill, successfully defended her WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles, defeating, by wide unanimous decision in ten laps, the multiple former world champion, the Colombian-Norwegian Cecilia Brækhus.
Jessica McCaskill (10-2, 3 KOs) came out aggressive from the beginning, keeping the tempo of the fight, against a Cecilia Braekhus (36-2, 9 KOs), who could not mount any plan of attack and had no choice but withstand the gale.
In the end, all three judges saw McCaskill win with points of 100-89, 99-90, 98-91.
The world light flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), the Japanese Hiroto Kyoguchi (15-0, 10 KOs), defeated, by technical knockout in the fifth round, the Mexican Axel Vega (14-4-1, 8 KOs ).
The fight was competitive until Vega injured his right hand in the fifth round and couldn’t fight anymore.
Undefeated middleweight Austin “Ammo” Williams (8-0, 6 KOs), defeated Denis Douglin (22-8, 14 KOs) by decision in eight rounds.
Featherweight Raymond Ford (8-0-1, 4 KOs) tied Aaron Perez (10-0-1, 6 KOs) after eight rounds.
