The ex-footballer Iker Casillas, current deputy to the general director of the Real Madrid Foundation, and the journalist Sara Carbonero separate, as the magazine progresses Readings in the number that goes on sale this Wednesday. Readings ensures that his closest environment already knew the couple’s decision.

According to the magazine, Casillas and Carbonero have been living separate lives for months and have made the decision to end their marriage by mutual agreement.

Iker and Sara began their relationship in 2010, when the Spanish team won the World Cup in South Africa, and their children Martín and Lucas were born from it. Their relationship became public just after Spain won the World Cup final against the Netherlands, with Iniesta’s goal.

Casillas kissed Carbonero while Sara interviewed him live in Telecinco, chain with which Sara covered the World Cup.

Casillas and Carbonero returned to Madrid a few months ago after living the last five years in Porto, where Iker ended his career as a footballer. Recently, the exporter joined the Real Madrid Foundation, while Sara Carbonero began to collaborate with Radio Marca, work that she combines with her online clothing sales business.

Sara Carbonero continues her treatment to overcome ovarian cancer and on February 12, when she was discharged after being operated on at the Clinic of the University of Navarra, Casillas was with her to support her. Nevertheless, Readings maintains that at that time the relationship was already broken.

Days later they could be seen together again at a meal with journalist Isabel Jiménez, Carbonero’s close friend. According Readings, Iker and Sara left the restaurant separately.
