Judge Anthony Kelly authorized Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic to leave the hotel where he is being held to follow the hearing held this Monday in a Melbourne court on the revocation of his visa for not being vaccinated.

The Federal Circuit Court of Melbourne, where the anticipated hearing is held, published on Sunday the order approved by the judge the day before in which it agrees to allow Djokovic to follow the hearing outside the Park Hotel, where he has been detained since last Thursday .

The order states that the Australian Government must help “to take the applicant to the facilities specified by his lawyers on Monday, 10 January 2022… to allow him to remain there until the conclusion of each hearing and to ensure his safe return to detention at the end of each audience ”.

The court document does not reveal the place to which the number one in the world could be transferred and it is unknown if the tennis player has come to leave the hotel today.

The Australian justice began this Monday to analyze whether or not to deport Djokovic after the authorities of the oceanic country revoked his visa for not being vaccinated and the tennis player’s lawyers appealed the decision.

The hearing, which is scheduled to last one day and is held virtually, started late and due to technical problems.

The day before, Judge Anthony Kelly rejected a request from the Australian Government to delay the hearing until Wednesday.

The first shift of the morning corresponded to the Serbian tennis player’s lawyers, who for two hours presented their arguments against Australia’s decision to recover the Djokovic visa upon his arrival in the country last Wednesday.

The world’s number one legal team maintains that the 34-year-old Serbian received an evaluation by email from the Australian Department of the Interior saying that he met the requirements to enter the country without quarantine.

Also that Djokovic tested positive for covid on December 16 and that two weeks later he was recovered, so on January 1 he had been given permission to enter Australia without being vaccinated.

The world’s number one tennis player landed at Melbourne Airport on Wednesday night to participate in the Australian Open, which will be held between January 17 and 30.

The Australian Government, which has the possibility of using powers to deport the Serbian tennis player, requires travelers to have the complete schedule of the covid-19 vaccine or a valid medical exemption to enter the country.
