Francis Coquelin is not having much luck in his new stage with Villarreal. For different reasons, the midfielder has not been able to show his level nor has it had the continuity that was expected. Villarreal confirmed this Tuesday that the kick he received in Elche has given you a second degree sprain of tibiofibular syndesmosis on his left ankle. What will mean an absence of a minimum of one month and you will miss a key part of the season.

Coquelin will not be able to play against Real Betis, Athletic Club, Atlético de Madrid and Valencia in the League, to which is added the absence in the tie against Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League.

This would be the player’s third injury this season, with two muscular injuries and this ankle sprain, which have left him out for about three months.

The first injury was in September, when he suffered an injury to the soleus of his left leg, which left him out for four weeks. The second injury occurred in December with muscle damage to the hamstrings in his left leg, which put him out of the team for another four weeks. And now, it will be another month in the dry dock.
