The Spanish Carolina Marín had a comfortable debut in the Malaysian Open of badminton by defeating the French Qi Xuefei by 21-7 and 21-16 in 42 minutes of the match.
In the first set, Marín, seeded number 5, prevailed with a great superiority and from 1-1 extended the lead on the scoreboard until closing the first set with a more than clear 21-7.
In the second there was more equality. Xuefei held on the score until it reached a tie at 8, at which point the three-time Spanish world champion decided to take a small step in the game to reach a comfortable lead that she maintained until the final 21-16.
In the second round, the woman from Huelva will face the Danish Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt who defeated the Indonesian Putri Kusuma Wardani 21-14, 10-21 and 21-16.
