With a wet race, due to the rain, several cars were touched at the start, including those of the Dutch World Championship leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull), the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and the Finn Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes).

That also ruined the start of the race for Englishman Lando Norris (McLaren) and the other Red Bull, that of Mexican Sergio Pérez. Like his former Canadian teammate Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), that Norris and Leclerc seem to have trouble resuming the race.

English seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) started well from pole position and was in first place at the time of the interruption.

In this regard, the Mexican pilot lamented through social networks.
“One frustrating day, I had a good start and we were already third. We missed a big opportunity in the race, Bottas apologized for his mistake. To close the page and focus on the best 2nd half of the season,” he wrote.
