YouTube star turned professional boxer Jake Paul appears to have secured the toughest test of his boxing career to date after confirming contracts have been signed for his blockbuster fight with Tyson Fury’s younger brother Tommy Fury.

The pair were originally scheduled to fight last December before Fury, 23, pulled out after suffering a rib injury before the fight. Fury was replaced by former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, whom Paul knocked out in the sixth round of their rematch.

The fight appeared to be in jeopardy once again after a clearly frustrated Paul took to social media on Wednesday to detail what he said Fury was once again.groping for the bag”before the contest, although Paul confirmed Thursday afternoon that Fury”grew a set overnight”.

In a video message explaining why Fury had not yet signed the contract, Paul said: “What’s the excuse? ‘Oh, I can’t go and I can’t do it because my dad can’t be there with me during the fight.

“Tommy, your father was banned from entering the United States for 15 years. You’ve known this all along. He is a criminal. He is not allowed to enter. When you fought Anthony Taylor in Cleveland, neither Tyson [Fury] or your dad was there with you at your debut in America. Now all of a sudden you need your team with you? That doesn’t make any fucking sense.

“Re scared. You say you’re a professional boxer but you don’t want to fight me? Who have you talked so much about? Who do you say you’ll wake up? Who do you say I’m nothing compared to you? Where is all that shit now, Tommy?

“You’re a fucking atypical pro boxer who doesn’t want to make this fight happen. This is the biggest opportunity of your fucking life and you’re groping for the fucking bag one more time and I can’t believe how fucking stupid you are. fucking idiot.”

It seems that this social media explosion worked.

In the hours afterward, Paul issued another tweet, this time with a sign confirming the fight is official for August 6 at Madison Square Garden in what he called a dual main event alongside women’s boxing icon Amanda Serrano, who will fight against Brenda Carabajal.

“Okay folks, he grew a set overnight.Paul announced. “It’s official, I’m going to chop off this little Fury’s head. Amanda Serrano and I double main event in the mecca of boxing.”

Fury confirmed that the fight was underway in his own tweet, saying: “The contract has been signed. I don’t need a team to do this job, now that the drug test is signed, no problems. See you at the press conference..”

Both Paul and Fury remain undefeated in their boxing careers, although this is the first time Jake Paul will face an opponent with significant boxing experience.

Fury is currently 8-0 in the ring and most recently fought Pole Daniel Bocianski, previously 10-1, whom he defeated on points. Paul is also undefeated in his career, although critics of his say his record has been carefully managed.
