Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has rejected the possibility of Leroy Sané leaving the Bundesliga champions to move to the Premier League and wear the Manchester United shirt.

Rumors suggested the English club had inquired about the availability of the 26-year-old, who spent four years in the Premier League with United rivals Manchester City between 2016 and 2020.

Sané scored 25 goals in 90 Premier League appearances for the Citizens before returning to Germany to join Bayern, where he won two Bundesliga titles in a pair of seasons.

Julian Nagelsmann left Sané out of his starting eleven in a 6-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt in their first Bundesliga match, but Salihamidzic says the player is not going anywhere. “There is nothing to do. Leroy is an important player for us, so there is nothing to tell,” said the manager in dialogue with Sky90.

Sané provided an assist for a Jamal Musiala goal after coming off the bench in Friday’s win. The winger scored seven times and added seven assists in the last Bundesliga campaign, with only Thomas Muller (eight), Serge Gnabry (14) and Robert Lewandowski (35) converting more than him.
