Barça trains at the Spotify Camp Nou in front of more than 15,000 spectators

Barcelona trained this Monday at the Spotify Camp Nou to begin preparing for the Copa del Rey match against Intercity, in the traditional open-door Christmas training session, which was attended by 15,324 spectators, many of them children, who had the opportunity to see their idols up close.

There was no absence in training and, thus, the 24 players who entered the squad against Espanyol (1-1), in the last game of 2022, were once again available. This meant that there were no more players from the subsidiary beyond the usual Pablo Torre and Arnau Tenas.

The session began with the classic warm-up rounds and continued with a ball possession exercise in which the entire squad participated except for the goalkeepers, who did specific work. The training session, which lasted just over an hour, ended with a few matches on a small field.

The large number of boys and girls at the Camp Nou and the proximity to the pitch meant that the stands of the Barça stadium will be filled with fans with banners asking for the shirts of their idols. Pablo Páez ‘Gavi’ was the most requested Barça footballer, especially among the adolescent public.

All the proceeds from the tickets will go to the Robots Project of the FC Barcelona Foundation’s Pediatric Emotional Well-being Program which, through robots with audio and video connections, allows hospitalized children and people in situations to experience training like this remotely. of vulnerability.

After the training, the staff and managers of FC Barcelona will make the traditional visit to children admitted to various hospitals in Barcelona and its province.

On this occasion, the players will be distributed among nine different centers. This solidarity event recovers after two years without being able to take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
