Arda Turan, former Atlético de Madrid and Barça player, you are going to be tried again for sexual harassment, after a Turkish court has annulled the acquittal issued in 2019 and ordered a repeat trial, the NTV network reported today.

The Turkish player, currently at Basaksehir in Istanbul, He was sentenced in 2019 to two years and eight months in prison for injuries and for shooting in a hospital a weapon for which he did not have a license, but acquitted him of a crime of sexual harassment.

The facts tried date back to October 2018, when Turan got into a fight in a disco with him popular cantante Berkan Sahin, after accusing him of having harassed his wife in the same place.

Football player acknowledged the facts but denied the harassment and the court acquitted him, whereas Turan did not know that the applicant, Özlem Sahin, was Berkan’s wife.

The court of The appeal has now decided that the court did not properly investigate that Turan had met earlier with Özlem and Berkan Sahin and he did not accept the statements of two witnesses, so the trial must be repeated.
