In an interview with Jomari Goyso for his podcast Bluntly, Francisca Lachapel clarified that her husband, Franceso Zampogna, has never asked her to change her surname.
However, she explained that “out of respect”, and now that they are going to have a baby, she thinks she should. Of course, she is considering several options and does not rule out using her surname at birth.
“Eventually I think I have to take off my Lachapel. It may be out of respect, I say, to my husband. I think the fairest thing would be, especially now that we are going to have a baby, as it is to change my name,” said the former beauty queen in this podcast.
Francisca clarified that Francesco Zampogna, whom she secretly married on December 31, 2019, has never asked her to remove her previous husband’s last name. “Francesco is an angel, but it has never been something that has claimed me,” said Lachapel, who revealed that he does not rule out starting to use Zampogna as a married name.
Regarding the new surname that she intends to use, she clarified: “I don’t know. I have to think. I have options. I have Zampogna, which is my husband’s last name, and I have Méndez, which is my last name, which I stopped using because I was honoring her first husband”.
In this regard, Francisca does not rule out reusing her last name Méndez.
“I would like, I really tell you, how to give me the Méndez because there have been so many things that Francisca Méndez dreamed of, that she achieved and that she lives at this moment, that I feel that it would be a gift for that girl who dreamed in Azua with live what you live, with being on television, with having everything you have,” added the former beauty queen.
Francisca Antonia Méndez Montero, better known as Francisca, was born in Azua de Compostela, Dominican Republic.
She has stood out as a Dominican television presenter, actress and comedian, winner of the ninth season of the reality show Nuestra Belleza Latina 2015. She currently belongs to the cast of presenters of the morning entertainment program ¡Despierta América!
