‘Home Alone’ star Devin Ratray is under investigation by New York authorities over accusations of raping a woman in 2017. Ratray, 45, is already facing domestic violence charges after his then-girlfriend claimed that he strangled and beat her in Oklahoma in December of last year.
He pleaded not guilty to those charges, but now he is splashed with controversy again. The actor is known for his role as Kevin McCallister’s evil older brother in the 1990 Christmas movie “Home Alone” starring Macaulay Culkin.
After learning about the assault case, Lisa Smith contacted prosecutors about a police report she had filed in 2017 accusing the actor of raping her. Smith claims that she was friends with the actor for about 15 years before the alleged assault, explaining that she met her and Ratray’s brother, along with another friend, for a drink in New York just before the assault. The group then went to Ratary’s apartment, where she insisted that she drink from a specific glass.
“I woke up and couldn’t move”
She added that she felt very tired after drinking, and Ratray encouraged her to stay and sleep on the sofa. Smith believes the actor drugged her: “I remember waking up and I couldn’t move. I couldn’t really open my eyes, but I could hear what was going on and I could feel what was going on. I knew the other two people were gone and I was still on the couch.”
The next day she fled the apartment and told a friend and her sister what happened, before confronting Ratray via text message. He denied the assault, for which Smith filed a police report a few weeks later.
