Actor Chance Perdomo, who rose to fame as the star of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Gen V” died in a motorcycle crash. He was 27.
“On behalf of the family and his representatives, it is with deep regret that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely death in a motorcycle crash,” a publicist said in a statement released Saturday afternoon.
The statement said no one else was involved in the crash. At the moment, no details have been released about the death, such as when or where it occurred.
Perdomo most recently played Andre Anderson in the first season of “Gen V,” the spin-off series from Amazon Prime’s hit “The Boys,” set in a superhero college. Perdomo played a student at Godolkin College and his power was the manipulation of metals.
Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, creators of “Gen V,” stated that the show’s family was “devastated by the sudden passing.”
“We can’t fully comprehend this. For those of us who knew and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented actor and, most of all, a very kind and charming person,” the producers of “Gen V” said in a statement. “Even writing about him in the past tense is pointless.”
The statement did not make clear how Perdomo’s death will affect production of the show, which also features Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Shelley Conn.
One of Perdomo’s most famous roles was that of Ambrose Spellman, one of the main characters on “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” Created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the Netflix show set the Archie Comics characters in a town above the titular location of Aguirre-Sacasa’s “Riverdale” and employed a lewd and creepy tone.
Perdomo’s character was Sabrina Spellman’s cousin and a powerful pansexual sorcerer specializing in necromancy who is initially under house arrest. He used to serve as a sort of voice of reason on the show, which ended in 2020.
Perdomo, of black and Latino descent, was born in Los Angeles and raised in England. He also acted in several of the films in the “After” saga and will appear alongside Seann William Scott and Rob Riggle in the soon-to-be-released “Bad Man.”
