Data from FlightAware shows big numbers:
- Friday, Dec 20: 11,655 delays and 865 cancellations
- Saturday, Dec 21: 8,601 delays and 318 cancellations
- Sunday, Dec 22: 7,041 delays and 288 cancellations
AAA said over 122 million people planned trips of 50 miles or more from Dec 20 to Jan 1. More than 8 million flew for the first time ever during holidays.

These busy hubs had the most issues over those three days:
- Denver International (DEN) – Highest on Friday with 698 delays and 59 cancellations.
- Chicago O’Hare (ORD) – Many delays, like 469 on Friday.
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) – Steady high numbers, around 350-416 delays each day.
- Los Angeles International (LAX) – About 250-350 delays daily.
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (ATL) – Around 300-350 delays each day.
Big traffic, bad weather, and busy schedules caused most problems.
